Priorities

July 23rd, 2012:
Daddy and B.(5) were talking about building a birdhouse. Daddy told B. that they weren't ready to build it, since B. hadn't finished designing it yet. After thinking for a moment, B said, "Ok daddy. We will finish designing it second thing in the morning". So daddy asked "second thing in the morning? What's first?" To which B. replied, "well breakfast of course!"

Insomnia

July 13th, 2012:
B.(5): I think I'm an insomniac.
Me: Do you even know what that means?
B.: Yes. It means you don't get enough sleep.
Me: It means you don't get any sleep.
B.: Well, I didn't get any sleep at naptime.

Life expectancy of a toothbrush

July 12th, 2012:
I bought new Spiderman  toothbrushes for the boys and handed them each their new toothbrush. B.(5) looked at me and said "I don't need a new toothbrush. Mine is good until I'm 7". I laughed and responded "no, B., your toothbrush is for ages 4-7".

I got this

July 5th, 2012:
Daddy: B, do you need some help pouring your drink?
B. (5): No thanks, I can spill it myself!

Lip balm

June 14th, 2012:
B. (5): what is this?
Me: Lip balm.
B.: Oh, does it make your lips explode?
Me: No, not bomb! BALM!

Manners

June 13th, 2012:
I had just put a cracker in my mouth and told B(5) to eat his soup. He looked at me and said "and you are not supposed to talk with your mouth full..."

Words of wisdom part 1

June 8, 2012:
B (5): Mommy, you just have to find your inner ninja and meditate...

Teamwork

March 4th, 2012:
B (5). to L(2). : We have to push this ball with all our Mike!!

Random acts of kindness

February 23rd, 2012:
B.(5) just sprayed a bunch of water up in the air so God could have a cold drink...

You know you're a parent when...

January 15th, 2012:
You know you've been a parent for a while when you can continue eating your lunch after your child has thrown up his on the table...

After school conversation

January 10, 2012:
On our way back from school, I asked B.(4) what they did in school today. After thinking for a minute he responded "that's classified".

How it all started

Our adventure began on January 20th, 2007, when I went into premature labor 31 weeks into my first pregnancy. I was terrified. My husband took me to the hospital, but despite the doctors' best efforts to stop labor, B. was born the following day, 9 weeks premature, weighing only 3lbs 10oz, and measuring 16 1/2 inches. He was admitted to the NICU and after an emotional 5 1/2 weeks we finally got to take him home.

Fast forward 2 1/2 years, and after 7 weeks of bed rest while trying to potty train a 2 year old, our sweet baby L. was born at 37 weeks without any complications, weighing a healthy 7lbs.

...our lives were changed forever...

Welcome

Welcome to my blog everyone.
My name is Marie and I am the mother of 2 very energetic, smart, funny, loving, and crazy boys, ages 5 and 7. I grew up with 3 siblings, 2 of them boys, and started babysitting boys at the age of 10. When I was 19, I moved to the US, to become the nanny of 2 boys and a girl. As you can see, I have had plenty of experience with little boys and thought I was totally prepared to be the mother of boys...how wrong I was....
I hope our adventures will brighten your days.
